Position Overview:
We seek a dynamic and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our organization into its next phase of growth and impact. The CEO will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight and foster a culture of excellence and innovation within the organization. The successful candidate will have a passion for community health, a commitment to serving underserved populations, and a track record of driving organizational success in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic direction and vision for the organization in alignment with its mission and values.
• Oversee all aspects of organizational operations, including clinical services, administration, finance, human resources, fundraising, and quality improvement.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance access to care, improve health outcomes, and address health disparities within the community.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including patients, staff, board members, community partners, and funders.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of care governing FQHCs.
• Lead and inspire a diverse team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Drive financial sustainability through strategic planning, revenue diversification, and efficient resource utilization.
Qualifications:
• A college degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health, or a related field is required; a master's or doctorate degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in primary care or community health.
• Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or similar organization.
• A history of effective team building with internal teams and the board of directors.
• Demonstrated track record of success in strategic planning, organizational development, fundraising, and operational management.
• Strong understanding of healthcare finance, reimbursement mechanisms, and revenue cycle management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with the ability to foster a culturally competent and responsive organizational culture.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing FQHCs and experience navigating complex regulatory environments.

Hennepin County is seeking a NorthPoint Health & Wellness Chief Executive Officer to lead, develop and sustain the community health and human services transformational change efforts in North Minneapolis through the operation of its Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
For more than 50 years, NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center in North Minneapolis has made history as it partners with community to improve health outcomes. NorthPoint centers the well-being of its largely Black, Indigenous, Latino/Latinx, Asian, Immigrant and LGBTQIA+ patient and participant population by offering medical, dental, behavioral health and human services.
The position functions under the general direction of the NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center Community Board pursuant to the Co-Applicant agreement between the Community Board and Hennepin County related to the operation of the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), directing the programmatic services delivered through NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center Inc., and establishing effective community programming and public relations efforts on behalf of the Community Board.
This position is also accountable to the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners and is under the direction of the County Administrator related to the ongoing financial and human resources functions of the FQHC operated within the Hennepin County Health line of business.
Location and hours:
The NorthPoint Health & Wellness Chief Executive Officer's primary work location is at the NorthPoint Health and Wellness main campus located at 2220 Plymouth Ave North Minneapolis, MN 55411 and other locations throughout Hennepin County in order to meet business needs. Based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to the greater Twin Cities metro area.
About the position type:
This position is full-time, benefit-earning and unclassified. Unclassified positions are non-permanent (at will) and are not subject to HR law/rules.
This position is internally classified as a NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center Executive Director.
In this position, you will:
Serve as Chief Executive Officer of NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center pursuant to the Co-Applicant Agreement between the NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center Community Board and Hennepin County.
Develop, implement, and administer programs in response to Community Board direction, patient, participant, and community's health and human services service needs.
Incorporate priorities and initiatives established by the County Board and County Administration for the delivery of community health and human services.
Lead clinical operations and workforce of the multi-specialty medical, dental and behavioral health center with an operating budget of over $52 million and staff of over 280.
Lead operations of NorthPoint Inc., community non-profit with an operating budget of $12 million and staff of 85.
Develop initiatives in partnership with educational, community and philanthropic organizations to improve the health and well-being of residents of North Minneapolis.
Work to assure health and well-being for residents through policies, programs and strategies that address the social determinants of health.
Partner with other professional, governmental, and health care organizations and groups on health and county initiatives.
Work with the County's intergovernmental relations staff to guide legislative strategies to ensure the best possible outcomes for North Minneapolis residents; influence and advise the state and federal government on behalf of primary care health and social conditions.
Participate as a department director and collaborate with various County departments to effectively identify needs, develop, and administer programs that deliver primary care and related human services to the community.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Master's degree or higher in public administration, health administration, hospital administration, public health, or business administration with an emphasis in health care, or related field, and five or more years of administrative experience
Bachelor's degree in one of the above fields and seven or more years of the required administrative or management experience.

Leading an environment where team members follow a holistic and culturally responsive approach for service delivery specifically with Black, Indigenous, Latino/Latinx, Asian, Immigrant and LGBTQIA+ communities.
Working understanding of cultural differences and the impacts of culture on service effectiveness, organizational effectiveness, and effective relationships with staff, partners, and those we serve.
Knowledge of operational and financial aspects of Federally Qualified Health Centers, including strategic business planning and human resource management, provisions of federal, state, and local legislation and regulatory bodies pertaining to health care delivery.
Ability to:
Provide leadership and effectively communicate strategies that align with county goals, mission and core values for diversity, equity & inclusion.
