Responsibilities:
Provides quality outpatient patient care during full-time employment. Emphasis is placed on the doctor-patient relationship to be the primary physician for the patients.
Provides outpatient services as needed, or arranges for appropriate inpatient care at Regions Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital, or other local hospitals when hospitalization is required.
Participates in performance improvement (PI) peer review auditing activities and other quality improvement activities.
Participates in other committees and clinical activities as determined by the CCO/CMO.
Obtains/maintains current hospital privileges if participating in inpatient care.
Maintains adequate EHR charting and documentation of patient care in a timely fashion.
Provides leadership, as needed, on infectious disease issues pertinent to the clinic and contributes as needed to the development of the annual quality improvement plans.
Practices within the scope of practice for the specialty and works cooperatively with other specialists and staff. Treats patients within accepted standards of practice for the region and medical experience.
Follows the general policies and procedures of Open Cities Health Center, including but not limited to HIPAA policies, pain management policy, code of conduct, and communication policies.
May also provide additional services as directed by the CCO/CMO.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
A physician with experience and strong communication/relationship skills may be asked to participate in clinical leadership, including representation of the clinic at community events. Additionally, the physician will provide expertise, education, and guidance to the medical team. They may also participate in clinical /consultation oversight to the lab department, participate in leadership discussions related to infectious disease control (i.e., measures related to COVID19), and engage in community education/outreach activities related to COVID19. The position reports to the Chief Clinical Officer/Chief Medical Officer. Works in concert with QI Director and Assistant Medical Director.
Demonstrated ability in the provision of primary medical care within the bounds of the specialty.
Strong personal and professional communication skills.
Desire to teach and provide guidance to other healthcare staff, including mentorship.
Knowledge of and desire to work within a public health/community medicine model of service delivery.
Curiosity and humble approach to working across diverse cultures.
Respect and concern for patients regardless of economic status, race, gender, ethnic background, sexual preference, or disability.
Experience treating substance use disorders, willingness to obtain DATA waiver and prescribe MAT medications

Salary: $185,000-$220,000
