ROLE: The Behavioral Health Therapist provides on-site and/or virtual therapeutic services to children, adolescents and family members.
JOB DUTIES:
• Assess the emotional needs of children in consultation with other professionals
• Undertake assessment for appropriateness of play therapy and engage in play therapy with children in response to referrals.
• Engage in evidence based practice.
• Facilitates individual and family sessions in outpatient setting.
• Develops treatment plan for patients.
• Works closely with all members of the healthcare team in development of a plan of treatment.
• Develops and maintains thorough knowledge of referral resources throughout the service area.
• Consults with Behavioral Health Director when necessary and appropriate.
• Maintains accurate and timely records, including clinical progress notes, according to clinic policy.
• Provides positive customer relations in dealing with patients, families, physicians, members of the healthcare team, referral sources, service agencies and others.
• Attends and participates in clinical consultation meetings.
• Attends and participates in staff meetings and committees.
• Assists with other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work or PsyD/PhD.
• Licensed in discipline by appropriate state board (LPCC, LICSW, LMFT, LADC) .
• Registered Play Therapist (RPT), experience with DC 0-5, or someone with play therapy training (Theraplay, child centered, somatic experiencing, CPP) preferred for working with early childhood and young children.
• Maintain licensure as required by the state.
• Possess a strong community health/public health orientation. • Experience in community clinics preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
