ROLE: The Behavioral Health Director oversees the treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. Manages and directs the activities of the behavioral health services department. He/she is responsible for overseeing and developing the Clinical department, including hiring, supervision, evaluation, and scheduling. Develops, plans, and implements strategies for program continuation and growth.

JOB DUTIES:

•Supervise and oversee all aspects of the clinical department, demonstrated by setting departmental goals and objectives. Evaluate existing contract compliance, monitoring, and reporting to ensure all goals are being met.

•Hiring, supervision, evaluation, scheduling, promotion, and corrective action of department personnel.

•Develop, plan, and implement strategies to manage program growth and ensure self-funding and sustainability of the program. Regularly review and recommend changes in program services to meet client needs with particular emphasis on services for underserved populations, oversight of program evaluation, and quality assurance functions for the department, including assessment of applicable legal and professional requirements and monitoring client treatment plans.

•Ensure contract compliance for department personnel. Initiate, implement, and monitor compliance with evidence-based practices to maintain complete, accurate, timely records.

•Work with other members of the management team to ensure successful communication and coordination between all SCHS programs and participate in strategic planning.

• Professionally represent SCHS.

•Create, train, and implement BH department policies and procedures.

•Understand and follow all policies and procedures of SCHS.

•Attend and participate in staff meetings and committees.

•Assist with other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

•Confidence, professional judgment, and grace under pressure

•Strong managerial, team-building, critical thinking and decision-making skills are required.

•High level of clinical knowledge for understanding what patients with depression, anxiety, addiction, bipolar, schizophrenia, or other disorders need from their treatment.

•Strong written and oral communication skills.

•Ability to exhibit good rapport with clients of varying ethnic backgrounds and socio-economic status.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

•Three to five years of progressively responsible non-profit program management experience and staff supervision.

•Proven experience understanding and demonstrated ability to generate revenues for clinical services.

•Experience and confidence in identifying and implementing evidence-based practices.

•Experience working in a crisis setting with individuals and families.

•Fully licensed in Social Work (LICSW), Psychology (Ph.D. or PsyD), Counseling (LPCC), or Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT).

•Proficient in PC skills, including MS Office and EPIC software.

•Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
