State Update April 2024
State Update
MNACHC hosted their annual Policy forum on March 13-and 14. This brought nearly 60 Health Center advocates to St. Paul to speak on behalf of health centers.
The Forum consisted of a day of training where advocates gathered to hear from MNACHC’s policy team about the 2024 state legislative agenda and some tips and tricks to successfully navigate legislative visits. MDH Commissioner Brooke Cunningham also spoke to attendees about MDH’s vision, and potential collaboration with health centers to better serve medicaid and BIPOC communities.
Advocates spent the following day at the Capitol visiting with legislators. Overall more than 50 visits including the Governor’s Office were made by health centers. Health Centers spoke about the need for increased funding for health centers, and the HCCN priorities.
This provides an opportunity for health centers to talk about the work that we do every day to serve some of Minnesota’s most vulnerable populations. Thank you so much to all of who were able to attend!
