JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide direct patient/clinical care in ambulatory setting.
  • Provide orientation and direct supervision of all medical clinic personnel, including pharmacist and provider staff.
  • Develop qualification standard for physician and mid-level provider privileging for Open Cities Health Center’s Quality Council.
  • Conduct medical staff performance and quality Assurance evaluations. Directly evaluate pharmacist, lab and sign medical support staff evaluations.
  • Supervise medical outreach efforts.
  • Chairs the quality Improvement committee of OCHC. Plans, coordinates, and implements the quality management and quality improvement programs for a healthcare facility. Monitors and aids with quality assurance and compliance functions. Provides consultation and direction to ensure programs and services are implemented at the highest standards and patients receive the highest level of care in primary care.
  • Ensures policies and procedures are monitored and updated to include regulatory.
  • Coach medical providers and conduct performance improvement plans when appropriate.
  • Assist director of operations in maintaining physician and nurse practitioner clinic and call schedule to provide adequate and optimal clinic coverage.
  • Participates in long-range strategic planning process. Develop clinical objectives for the agency and make recommendations on priorities to the CEO.
  • Update medical practice guidelines in accordance with changing service needs and professional standards.
  • Actively participate on the health center’s Management Team, representing and providing input from medical, pharmacy in ELT meetings.
  • Serves as management liaison to the Board’s Quality Improvement Committee and is responsible for performing and/or delegating and presenting findings of QA audits and other measures to the quality Improvement Committee.
  • Other duties as requested and/or assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of medical billing, third-party claims, and patient statements.
  • Knowledge of third-party reimbursement practices.
  • Knowledge of credit, billing, and collection practices.
  • Working knowledge of general office procedures and data entry skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Interest in community health/health equity.

  

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certified as a Family Practice Physician.
  • Current State of Minnesota medical license without any restrictions.
  • Current DEA license.

 

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working with low income, diverse populations, and community-based programs.
