National Health Center Week (NHCW) 2015 took place August 9th- 15th and celebrated the services and contributions of Community, Migrant, Homeless and Public Housing Health Centers. Check the website of your local health center for activities or go to Minnesota postings on the NHCW website.
National Health Service Corp - NHSC Students to Service Program Opens August 2015 - The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Students to Service Loan Repayment Program (S2S LRP) provides up to $120,000 to medical students (MD and DO) in their final year of school in return for a commitment to provide primary health care full time for at least 3 years or half time for at least 6 years at an approved NHSC site in a Health Professional Shortage Area of greatest need. http://www.nhsc.hrsa.gov/loanrepayment/studentstoserviceprogram/index.html
COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER JOB OPENINGS IN MINNESOTA FQHCS "Working at a Community Health Center" lists openings at MNACHC member clinics. Many of these community clinic jobs are eligible for federal and state loan repayment for health professionals.

MinnPost hosted a panel discussion, sponsored by UCare, on October 21 at Northrop Auditorium:“Health care equity: How do we get there?” The panel consisted of Dr. Ed Ehlinger, Commissioner, MN Department of Health; Stella Whitney-West, CEO, NorthPoint Health and Wellness Center; Dr. Bjorn Westgard, Regions Hospital; Linda Berglin (former state senator), Health Policy Program Manager, Hennepin County; and Julie Brunner, Executive Director, Minnesota Council of Health Plans.
Migrant Health Service Inc. has changed its name to Community Health Service Inc. (CHSI) effective July 2014. The Clinic wants its communities to know that all are welcime at CHSI clinics. CHSI will continue to serve migrant workers, but its services are not limited to this population.
Open Door Health Center was featured in the July 2014 edition of River Valley Woman magazine. ODHC is completing a sizable expansion which will enable it to provide dental, behavioral health and primary medical care for many more patients. Read the full article HERE.
